Scott Schumann
Senior Portfolio Manager
About
Scott brings nearly 30 years of experience in financial services, specifically in credit, to his role at Pathway. When his career began, he quickly realized that his and his team’s credit analysis provided companies with an in-depth and thorough view of the company’s operations—a view the owners/management teams greatly appreciated. It was this interaction with owner/operators that sparked Scott’s passion for being seen as a trusted advisor. That desire to work directly with business owners led Scott to trade in the big-bank world for a more hands-on, relationship-driven role where he could make a bigger difference.
His exposure to a large variety of deals has enabled him to hone his skills in creative credit structuring and business advising. Scott has been recognized for his ability to quickly assess the situation and come up with innovative solutions to create a win-win for all stakeholders.
Scott lives in Nashville with his spouse and their three nearly grown children. He holds a BBA from St. Joseph’s College, an MBA from Loyola University, and has also held Series 7, 86, and 87 licenses. A guest lecturer on social entrepreneurship at Belmont University and the Center for Nonprofit Management, Scott is deeply involved in his community. He's served on the board of Safe Haven Family Shelter for the last 9 years, including three as treasurer, and has contributed his time on both the financial and school boards at Saint Edward Parish and School.
