Room to Grow: How A New Building is Transforming Trinity Way Enrichment Center
March 14, 2025For more than 47 years, Trinity Way Enrichment Center has been a cornerstone of childhood care and development in North Nashville. Katina Henderson now carries forward the legacy of this generational business, originally founded by her mother, that serves children aged six weeks to six years with a unique blend of professional childcare and faith-centered support.
With a license to care for 112 children, Trinity Way Enrichment Center has always prioritized supporting local families, but Katina’s vision extends far beyond traditional childcare. The center often provides additional resources to its families, many of whom are single parents, by providing prayer, training, and a safe space for community growth.
Katina’s dream took a major step forward when she transitioned from renting to owning, purchasing a new building, made possible through financing from Pathway Lending after being referred by a lending institution in 2024. Overwhelmed and overjoyed, Katina shared how this funding has allowed her to “further her vision” and create a permanent home for Trinity Way. “The difference is that this building is mine,” she says, noting the transformative potential of customizing the space to fully support her goals for the children, families, and staff.
The new location not only creates opportunities for the 26 employees who have transitioned to this space but also opens the door to full capacity, ensuring more children receive quality care and education. With the expanded space, Katina plans to collaborate with other organizations to offer enriching programs like dance, basketball, and tutoring. Trinity Way also serves as a childcare partner site for Tennessee State University’s Early Head Start program, offering high-quality, full-year, full-day services to eligible families.
Katina’s vision doesn’t stop at the children she serves. She is deeply passionate about uplifting and mentoring other women and aspiring entrepreneurs, offering training and guidance to those who share her calling to work in childcare or launch businesses of their own.
This new real estate purchase was essential in allowing Katina to lay the groundwork for growth, benefiting not just her business but her entire community. By empowering Trinity Way Enrichment Center, Pathway is helping to transform the neighborhood and foster new possibilities for families in North Nashville, pouring into the next generation.
Katina’s faith, dedication, and leadership demonstrate the power of small businesses to change lives—and Pathway is honored to play a role in making her vision a reality.
Pathway received $2MM from Tennessee’s LendTN Program, funded by the State Small Business Credit Initiative, as additional lending capital. This funding enabled Pathway to structure the loan for Trinity Way by matching a portion of it to provide a higher loan-to-value ratio.
